Motorcycle training grants and course reimbursement

Professional instruction gives riders a controlled place to work on braking, cornering, low-speed control, and decision-making. This program helps reduce the cost of approved motorcycle courses and instructional track days.

  • Motorcycle Safety Foundation basic rider courses
  • MSF and other approved advanced rider courses
  • Closed-course braking, cornering, and handling clinics
  • Instructional motorcycle track days and riding schools
  • Other structured rider education programs

What to include in the request

  • The course provider, location, and date
  • The tuition or registration cost
  • Whether reimbursement or advance assistance is requested
  • How the course supports the rider's training goals

Application process

  1. Choose the grant category.Select the program that best matches the expense.
  2. Describe the request.Explain what happened, the amount requested, and how funds would be used.
  3. Board review.The board reviews the request and may ask for supporting information.
  4. Email follow-up.The foundation contacts the applicant about the decision or next step.

Track day grants are intended for structured instruction in a controlled environment.

Course approval and reimbursement are not automatic. Apply with complete program details.

Can I get reimbursed for an MSF motorcycle course?

MSF reimbursement is an available application category. Include the provider, course, date, and cost so the board can review the request.

Does the foundation offer motorcycle track day grants?

Yes. Riders may request support for instructional track days or track-based riding schools that provide structured training in a controlled environment.

Are advanced motorcycle classes eligible?

Advanced rider courses, braking and cornering clinics, and other structured programs may be considered. Funding depends on the course and available funds.
